Pit jack for heavy vehicle lifting
Slab-on-trench creeper
Unlike lifting beams and pit edge jacks, the in-ground ram moves on the floor at the bottom of a HGV or bus pit. It is often highly appreciated by workshops carrying out a lot of heavy maintenance involving interventions on gearboxes and axles. Nevertheless, it allows an axle to be lifted for operations such as brake testing or suspension work, just like a pit edge jack. Several models of in-ground rams exist, ranging from relatively basic versions to much more sophisticated ones.
Piston pit jack with rail travel
This jack is the best available today for a service pit. Unlike the previously mentioned and described models, it slides within a 100x100x10mm angle iron at the bottom of the pit, instead of resting directly on the pit floor. This gives the jack unparalleled ease of movement.
Its ultra-flat chassis greatly reduces obstruction around the pit. When the ram is not in use, it can also be stored behind a staircase by passing under the first step. This ability to store the pit jack behind the stairs is highly appreciated by users. The useful working space at the bottom of the pit is cleared of all obstructions.
