Contrary to the lifting crossbars and the pit edge jacks, the pit edge jack moves on the ground at the bottom of the truck or bus pit and is often very appreciated by workshops doing a lot of heavy maintenance with interventions on gearboxes and bridges. It allows nevertheless to lift an axle for braking or ground connection operations just like the pit edge jack. Several models of pit edge jacks exist from relatively basic versions to much more sophisticated versions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThese are the most commonly used versions. They are manufactured on the basis of a frame with Teflon or steel wheels on which the jack is installed for lifting. Its wheels have the particularity of rising when the jack is under load, leaving the frame resting on the ground. This device confers a real stability to the equipment when it is under load avoiding any possibility of tilting. It is important to underline that the wheels do not rise under the weight of a gearbox, which allows the operator, once the dismantling operation is completed, to take it out at the front or rear of the vehicle to be picked up by a forklift, an overhead crane or a workshop crane. \nThe \"basic\" model manufactured on this chassis base does not allow the cylinder to translate \"right\/left\" and to adjust itself under the vehicle. It is therefore advisable to use a right\/left translation model when the pit is not wide enough for a lateral adjustment under the vehicle. The advantage of this model is that it can be used in the pit as well as in the workshop under mobile columns, barrel cranes or scissor cranes.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This model is the most advanced in the field of pit floor jacks today. Unlike the models previously mentioned and described, it slides into a 100x100x10mm pit bottom angle instead of resting on the pit bottom. This gives the jack an unequalled ease of movement.<\/p>

Its ultra-flat chassis makes it much easier to move around the pit. When the jack is not used, it can also be stored behind a staircase by passing under the first step. This possibility to store the jack behind the stairs is really appreciated by the users.
