The family company Guisnel<\/a> based in Dol De Bretagne, is building a new workshop to service its fleet of vehicles, mainly Tautliners and semi-rigids.<\/p>\n

Following the inauguration of the new workshop at the end of 2015, the current workshop will become a shared space for the company's employees. It should house a small sports hall, a refectory and a library. The plans have not yet been finalised.<\/p>\n

After many months of thinking about the interior layout of their future workshop and the real functional needs of the end user, the customer decided to build 2 pits in the 6 bays of the workshop.<\/p>\n

One bay will be reserved for electrical incidents and diagnostics, one for heavy mechanics with a crane with 5 14T cylinders, one will be more versatile with a fixed 4-column crane and a mechanical bay without lifting equipment, one for pneumatics and finally 2 26m pits.<\/p>\n

Each of the HGV pits will have a dedicated application. The first will essentially carry out oil changes and rapid maintenance, with all the equipment required in the pit, including oil reels, a diaphragm pump to evacuate used oil and liquids to an underground tank, and a pit edge jack to lift an axle if necessary.<\/p>\n

The second pit will be used for pre-departure roadside inspections of the company's fleet of trucks. Prior to departure, all the carrier's trucks are systematically taken to the pit for a quick check on and under the vehicle. All the major components are systematically inspected before setting off. It's a very short operation that today enables the Guisnel group to be one of the carriers, if not the carrier, to ensure a quality of service close to 100%.<\/p>\n

This inspection pit is equipped with a pneumatic lifting jack and play plates.<\/p>\n

Safety and quality are real issues. Of course, Guisnel has fitted the 2 pits with pneumatic protectors, one at each end of the pit, so that the part of the pit that is not in use is safe.<\/p>\n
