Suez equips its workshop with a PVC pit cover

As the pit at the SUEZ workshop in Sainte Consorce (69) is not protected against the risk of falling from a height, and therefore does not meet the safety standards set out in the INRS recommendations R468 and R469The Suez group wanted to equip its pit with a safety system.

Cost-effective, tailor-made pit protection

After consulting several solutions (guardrails, protective netting, rigid aluminium or flexible pit cover), our contact, in his role as Occupational Risk Prevention Officer, opted for our complete service including the supply of a PVC pit cover and our installation service with civil engineering work.

Our pit safety systemmade to measure in our workshops in Neuville sur Saônewas chosen because it has a dual advantage:

1 - The pit curtain is really very quick and easy to install. The pit can be easily opened and closed without any strain on the user. The cover is lightweight and slides effortlessly over the entire length of the pit on bearings, so there is no risk of RSI.

2 - Its cost: our CE and APAVE-certified pit protection is a low-cost solution. a cost-effective solution for bringing any existing or new pit up to standard.

The other advantage of our offer is that we provide a turnkey solution including civil engineering work. Here we demolished the concrete staircase and made adaptations to the existing pit-edge profile to ensure perfect installation of our anti-fall device.

The SUEZ Sainte Consorce PVC pit cover

We made this anti-fall device made to measure with a red curtain (colour chosen by the customer from the standard RAL range), 8.70 m long and 1.20 m wide, to cover the entire pit in compliance with safety standards.

To this we added a black painted cover plate. This cover plate allows the cover to be stored cleanly and ensures that no-one can step on the cover once it has been stored.

We also took the opportunity to apply a little black paint to the pit edge profile for a perfect finish.
