Suez equips its workshop with a PVC pit cover
The pit at the SUEZ Sainte Consorce workshop (69) is not protected against the risks of falling from height and therefore does not comply with the safety standards set out in the INRS recommendations R468 and R469, the Suez group wished to equip its tank with a safety system.
An effective and economical custom pit guard
Following consultation of several solutions (guardrails, safety nets, rigid aluminium or flexible pit covers), our contact, acting in his role as a Professional Risks Prevention Officer, opted for our complete service including the supply of a PVC pit cover and our installation service with civil engineering works.
Our pit safety device, custom-made in our workshops at Neuville-sur-Saône, was selected because it has a dual advantage:
1 – The orchestra pit curtain is actually Very simple and quick to set up. The pit can be easily opened or closed without strain for the user. The cover is lightweight and slides on bearings along the entire length of the pit effortlessly: therefore, there is no risk of MSDs.
2 – Its cost Our CE and APAVE certified pit protection is a Cost-effective solution for bringing any existing or under-construction septic tank up to standard.
The other advantage of our offer is that we propose a turnkey solution also integrating civil engineering works. We have demolished the concrete staircase here and made adaptations to the existing pit edge profile to ensure perfect installation of our anti-fall device.
SUEZ Sainte Consorce PVC pit cover
We made this fall arrest device Custom-made with a red curtain (colour chosen by the client from standard RAL colours), 8.70m in length and 1.20m in width, to fully cover the pit in compliance with safety standards.
To this, we added a black painted cover plate. This cover plate allows for the storage of the cover while keeping it clean and ensures safety, preventing anyone from stepping on the cover once it’s stored.
We also took the opportunity to apply a coat of black paint to the pit edge profile for a perfect finish.
