Our achievements
The Guisnel Group acquires 2 heavy goods vehicle pits measuring 26m.
The family business Guisnel Based in Dol-de-Bretagne, it is building a new workshop for the maintenance of its fleet of vehicles, which consists mainly of tautliners and semi-trailers.
The current workshop will become a communal space for company employees after the inauguration of the new workshop at the end of 2015. It is intended to house a small gym, a canteen, and a library. The plans are not yet finalised at present.
After many months of consideration regarding the interior layout of their future workshop and the actual functional needs of the end-user, the client has decided to install two pits across the six bays of the workshop.
One bay will be reserved for electrical incidents and diagnostics, one for heavy mechanics with a 14-tonne, 5-ram pit lane hoist, one will be more versatile with a fixed four-post lift, and one bay for mechanics without lifting equipment, one for pneumatics and finally two 26m pits.
Each of the heavy goods vehicle pits will have a dedicated application. The first will essentially carry out emptying and rapid maintenance with all the necessary equipment in the pit, oil reels, diaphragm pump for evacuating used oils and liquids to an underground tank, and a pit edge jack to lift an axle if necessary.
The second pit will be used to carry out pre-departure road inspections on the company’s fleet of lorries. Before every journey, all of the haulier’s lorries are systematically taken into the pit for a quick check both under and on top of the vehicle. All major components are systematically inspected before hitting the road. It is a very quick procedure that now enables the Guisnel Group to be one of the hauliers – if not the haulier – to provide a service quality close to 100%.
This inspection pit is therefore equipped with a pneumatic lifting jack and play plates.
Safety and quality are real challenges. Guisnel has, of course, equipped the 2 pits with pneumatic protections, one at each end of the pit, which makes it possible to secure the part of the pit that is not in use.
