Bespoke pit design for the maintenance of all vehicles
Heavyweights
In the heavy vehicle sector, working in a pit is essential. It offers a workstation ergonomics that is highly valued by its users and allows for an increased production rate.
Depending on the space you have available in your workshop (remember you must keep a 1.5m passage on each side of your pit), the longer your pit is, the more practical it will be. Ideally, you should be able to fit a full semi-trailer and have a drive-through workshop allowing for vehicle rotation.
For the width, you should allow between 1.00m and 1.10m. Previously, the recommended standard depth for a pit was 1.40m. We now recommend, and our customers often choose, a depth of 1.50m or even 1.60m with a raised platform (+20 cm). For equipment, a pit cover is of course mandatory and a niche is essential for storing your materials and, if you have planned for it, for integrating reels for fluid distribution in the pit. Consider an oil collection tray at the edge or bottom of the pit with an air-operated pump to empty the tray into a non-buried double-skinned tank. For lifting, integrate a 15-tonne jack at the bottom or edge of the pit. Of course, consider pit ventilation and exhaust gas extraction.
Bus and coach maintenance pits
As bus maintenance is mainly carried out at the rear, we can create hammer-head pits with an enlarged workshop area. Within this workshop area, you can easily integrate a workbench and work with comfort and safety.
Garage for light vehicle or utility vehicle maintenance
The width of your pit will need to be 0.90m. As the ground clearance on light commercial vehicles and vans is very low, you will need to ensure the depth is adapted to 1.60m. For the equipment, this will be similar to that for heavy goods vehicles (pit cover, recess, pit bottom ventilation, drain pan for oil changes and waste oil storage tank, fluid distribution, pit jack or lifting beam, and exhaust gas extraction).
Diagnostic equipment for heavy goods vehicle and car technical inspections
We custom-design service pits tailored for the workshops of equipment manufacturers, to integrate all your diagnostic equipment (tacho benches, brake testers, play detectors, wheel alignment systems) into your pit. Our pits can accommodate all makes as they are custom-built. We will adapt to your supplier's equipment and can even handle the supply of your equipment, allowing you to benefit from our partners' offers.
Workshop pits for ski resorts and difficult terrain
For jobs with extreme working conditions (cold, snow, use of corrosive products, etc.), we can hot-dip galvanise our pits, thus offering them protection against corrosion. For the cover made up of aluminium slats, we will use stainless steel components to ensure a longer lifespan for your workshop equipment.
Bespoke 100% garage pits
As you can see, we don’t really have a standard model. All our pits are unique, custom-designed based on the plans we will discuss and agree on together before production. We will deliver 100% workshop equipment that meets your expectations and requirements.
