The design and installation of a dedicated tachograph operations pit require in-depth expertise and compliance with numerous technical and regulatory requirements.

Depending on the type of vehicles to be checked, The positioning of the bench and the idler rollers varies. It is imperative that they are neither at the beginning nor at the end of the track, otherwise approval will be refused by the DRIRE.

Although the new benches automatically measure the wheel circumference, It is recommended to have a manual alternative in case of a breakdown. For this, the Mad rollers must be placed at least 4 metres from the main entrance. If this space is insufficient, the measurement can be taken after the bench.

The integration of the bench into the pit also imposes significant structural constraints. Vertical load descents that may exceed 20 tonnes, the design must take into account Eurocode standards to ensure the robustness and durability of the installation. We are also anticipating the implementation of Connector sleeves to connect the bench to the manufacturer's control box.

The pits intended for tachograph checks must meet the same requirements as mechanical and draining pits. It is therefore mandatory to incorporate within them:

A suction system heavy gases at the bottom of the pit.
A lateral overhang to accommodate lighting and other accessories (protruding equipment on the walls is forbidden).
A minimum of 450 Lux illumination under the chassis to ensure optimal working conditions.
A waterproof lining preventing water ingress and groundwater pollution.
Secure stairs on each side of the pit.
A bright and easy-to-clean coating for the side walls.
A water recovery system with a lift pump at the bottom of the pit.
A non-slip sun to limit the risk of falling.
