Integrating a fully-equipped steel garage pit into their existing workshop
Christophe, the workshop manager at the Colas branch in Quimper, came across our prefabricated steel garage pit. After an initial telephone contact to find out about his needs and expectations, we sent him a tailor-made offer with a turnkey solution covering all his requirements: design, manufacture and installation of a fully-equipped workshop pit with its motorised aluminium roofing, witharrival of new oils pit, the recovery/disposal and storage of used oila pit lifting solution to lift all its vehicles and site machinery, as well as pit ventilation to ensure full compliance with current safety standards. A complete proposal that meets its expectations in terms of working comfort and productivity.
A successful workshop renovation project!
Early October 2018, first contact. 3rd week of January, pit operational! Workshop downtime of less than 10 days. All Christophe had to do was define his needs, validate our installation plan and build the pit in accordance with the plan we drew up for him.
As always, we ask that the excavation be carried out as late as possible to avoid any risk of landslides. Colas Quimper dug its span on Friday 4 January, as our work began on Tuesday 08 January.

Installation of the pit and its equipment
In addition to the fully equipped steel pit, we also supplied and installed :
> our motorised aluminium pit cover for perfect workshop safety
> one used oil recovery tank at bottom of pit with a pneumatic pump kit that allows mechanics to empty their recuperators towards a 1500l double-skin HDPE storage tank.
> 2 oil reels with digital counter handles and 1 grease reel with gun
> one 500 m3/h pit fan to draw in and renew the air in the pit at 15 to 20 times its volume per hour
> one 15 tonne pit edge jack with pneumatic ascent and approach, enabling mechanics to lift the entire Colas vehicle fleet without exception
The pit is also equipped witha 2 m niche where we have positioned the 3 reels (gearbox, axle and grease oils) and where the customer can store his oil drip tray to leave a free passage in the pit for perfect working comfort.

Pit depth and raising platform
As the type of vehicle being serviced is very varied (commercial vehicles, HGVs and site machinery), we opted for a pit 1.50 m deep and positioned a rail all along the bottom of the pit, on which is placed a 1 m high aluminium anti-slip platform enabling users to to gain 20 cm.
