Our achievements
AREA is equipping its workshop at 3 massifs de Rives with a new pit.
AREA has acquired a new heavy goods vehicle inspection pit in November. Until then, AREA used a pit approximately 10 m long for the’Vehicle maintenance. This concrete pit did not allow the company to work in optimal conditions, as it was both too short and directly in front of the workshop manager's door. This garage pit had too many Risks for mechanics. So it was decided to break it down, then fill it in to install a Two-post car lift in place of.
It is on the second bay of the workshop that Xpertive has installed a New pit, 18.5m long, fully equipped with 2 aluminium slat pit covers extruded with a resistance of 1500kg/m², a platform with a guardrail allowing safe passage when the pit is open, and an escape ladder in the middle of the pit, Jacking point storage system pit edge behind the stairs, 2 niches of 1m for the Storage of oil reels and used oil disposal equipment.
The installation wasn't straightforward as it involved cutting into the existing workshop slab to install the new garage pit. The main difficulty lay in the fact that two seismic tie rods (concrete beams in the ground holding the building's structure) were precisely located where the pit excavation was planned. We therefore had to cut through them and reinforce the beams. To achieve this, we constructed steel structures that were fixed on either side of the pit and embedded in the concrete as it was set into the ground.
Once the PVC conduits have been pulled for the power supplies, compressed air, pit ventilation, electricity, oils and fluids, we made the connections from the existing oil mill, connected the compressed air and installed the mandatory sump fan for every new pit installed, connect the collection tank Recovery of used oil from pit to existing underground tank.
