On behalf of an international company generating a very large proportion of its business in emerging countries, we are working on their project to build a HGV workshop in Colombia. We have been asked to draw up the plans for their future logistics base.
Using the GPS coordinates of the site, we dimension the exterior and interior spaces of the future garage to ensure that the customer gets the best possible use out of their HGV workshop. Our starting point is the business plan and our assumptions about maintenance and repairs. We help and discuss the hypotheses with the customer, comparing them with our past experience. Very often these discussions enable us to remove certain points of vigilance and to see the construction of the HGV garage in a different light. In most cases, the building is over-dimensioned. Xpertive prefers to build a workshop of reasonable size from the outset, while incorporating the interfaces and reservations required for a short-term extension. The current economic climate is sufficiently uncertain for us to be extremely vigilant about the business outlook.
We are therefore planning the outside areas of the future truck workshop, with parking areas for customers, staff, cars, used vehicles and new vehicles. We also take great care to ensure that the site complies with local planning regulations.
Once the interior fittings have been completed, we size the office area and position the various areas: customer reception, spare parts reception, workshop reception, compatibility/invoicing, workshop manager, etc. We also size the spare parts shop and the workshop.
As well as sizing the workshop according to the customer's operating requirements, we offer to integrate all the equipment that the mechanics will need. Integration is not the only service we can provide to the customer; we also advise them on the choice of equipment. By equipment we mean oil and fluid distribution, exhaust gas extraction and garage pits, pit emptying prefabricated steel, diagnostic equipment, lifting equipment...
That's what we did for Colombia.
